Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data Elliot AI collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Elliot to serve you — not to profit from your personal information.

We do not sell your data. Ever.

1. What We Collect

When you use Elliot, we collect the following:

• Account information — your email address and encrypted password when you create an account
• Captured conversations — the questions you ask and the AI responses Elliot captures from supported AI platforms
• Categories and summaries — the category names and bullet point summaries generated from your captures
• Usage data — basic information about how you use the app, such as when captures occur

We do not collect your full browsing history, financial information, or any data from websites outside the supported AI platforms.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used only to provide and improve the Elliot service:

• To store and organize your captured memories in your personal account
• To generate AI-powered summaries and categories using Anthropic's API
• To power Elliot's chat feature by providing context from your memory history
• To generate your daily capture summary
• To send account-related emails when necessary

3. Third Party Services We Use

Elliot relies on a small number of trusted third party services to operate:

• Anthropic API — used to classify, summarize, and respond to your captured data. Your data is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
• MongoDB Atlas — your memories and account data are stored securely in MongoDB Atlas cloud databases.
• Render — Elliot's server infrastructure runs on Render's cloud platform.

We do not share your data with any advertising networks, data brokers, or other third parties beyond those listed above.

4. Data Security

We take security seriously. Your password is encrypted and never stored in plain text. Your data is stored in secure cloud databases with access controls in place. However, no system is completely immune to security risks. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Elliot account.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You are in control of your data:

• Delete your data — you can delete individual memories, categories, or all of your data at any time using the Clear All function within Elliot
• Delete your account — contact us at support@elliotai.co to permanently delete your account and all associated data
• Access your data — all of your captured memories are visible to you within the Elliot app at all times

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Backups may retain data for up to 90 days after deletion.

7. Children's Privacy

Elliot is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will notify users by email. Continued use of Elliot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
